Apologies now for a very pathetic post!!
I have been doing my best to catch up on blogs this week, only to end up confusing the hell out of myself. I can't remember who has said what or when. Or even which blogs I have read or not.
The cause of all this, besides the exciting new job (which is going great by the way)? I am reading a book, recommended to me by a very good friend, which I am completely absorbed in. Even when I am not reading it I am thinking about it. In one respect it is making it a great book to read, on the other hand I am good for nothing at the moment, until I have read it and dealt with the issues it has raised.
I am sure most of you have already heard of Paulo Coelho and I am just chasing the ship in a little tiny row boat. However on the off chance you haven't read any of his books, do!! In the meantime I am going to continue rowing towards the boat holding everyone that is better read than me and get back to Brida, one seriously compelling read!!
See you over the weekend and I hope all is well in your corner of the world. What are you reading at the moment? Is it a sprint to the finish or a steady away journey?
Currently reading Alice in Wonderland. Loving it so far.
ReplyDeletePaulo Coelho is Brazilian. I am Brazilian. Therefore I am cool by association. Right?
Cool by association for sure!!
DeleteI really must get around to reading Alice in Wonderland at some point. I always end up putting the classics off in favour of other books. Well they have waited this long to be read by me they can wait a little longer!!
I'm finally making myself read (or rather listen to on mp3)
ReplyDelete"Twilight." My sister said Stephanie Meyer based it loosely off "Pride and Prejudice" so that's what finally sold me. Speaking of rowing after a boat, eh? Also reading "A Matter of Magic." And now that a little bird has told me about Brida, I'm going to have to go find that one. Obviously :)
I'm not usually a sprinter. Definitely a turtle.
I have a lot to thank Stephanie Meyer for. It was her books that really sparked my interest in reading again. I read the series twice and then went onto other things. The rest of the series is loosley based on other classics; Wuthering Heights features somewhere, Romeo and Juliet, I am sure there is another one but I can't remeber it at the moment!!
DeleteEnjoy!!
I am on easy reads at the moment! Have no time really but really enjoying M.C Beaton and the six sisters series. Probably not heard of these will be tackling the Twlight series eventually x
ReplyDeleteHave you still not read the books??? lol. May have to check out the six sisters...I have to keep up with these things now ;-)
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Brida! I will look into it now, though. I've read the Valkyries, The Alchemist, and The Fifth Mountain. All fantastic!
ReplyDeleteOnly read The Alchamist and Eleven Minutes but will get hold of the other two as you have recommended them!
