A little here, a little there

There are some days in life that seem to take a part of you as they pass. Some days turns in to most days, sometimes and it becomes hard to remember the days that give you something back.

Random thought - why is there nothing useful to do with pencil shavings?

  1. I know a craft to do with pencil shavings ... (:

  2. Those kinds of days I make myself think of two positive thoughts for every one negative thought I have. Focus on the details, the magical bits that often get overlooked. Or at least that's the theory. Sometimes it's hard to make myself do anything on those kinds of days, other than just keep pushing on for pushing-on's sake.

  3. Hope your days get better.

The shavings in the picture look like art. Perhaps glueing the different colors together to make some sort of mosaic that could be covered in glass and then made into a small (or large) table. That was my first I-wish-I-could-be-on-HGTV idea.

    1. Love that idea of the shavings in a glass table. I have seen some tables with glass covered squares in the middle, you could fill them shavings.

  4. Interested to hear what Larissa's pencil shaving project is - and if she's got something for broken crayons as well.
I hope your day (week) got better. It's all part of the whole. We need bad in order to appreciate good.

  6. Oh, those days. I know those days intimately--I think many of us, especially the creative, writerly types, know those days well. Hope things ease up soon--and hope it helps to know you're very much not alone.

    1. It really does help me to know I am not alone, it helps me keep my head just above it all gasping for air. Hey, at least it gives us something to write about ;-)
